As if your clothes were shrinking on their own or someone had flled you with air while you slept. Chronic infammation is almost a “trendy” topic, and it is often accom- panied by fatigue, slow digestion, bloating, and even mood swings. Te good news: what we eat can be our best defense. No extreme diets, treatments, or supplements with unpro- nounceable names are necessary. All you need to do is return to real food, quality ingredients, and a little more home cooking. WHAT FOODS HELP REDUCE INFLAMMATION? Fresh, brightly colored fruits and vegetables such as berries, ca- rrots, beets, pineapple, and leafy greens. Better if they are organic and heirloom varieties. More omega-3-rich fsh and less red meat, such as sardines, sal- mon, and tuna. Ideally, wild-caught fsh that is sourced as close to your area as possible. Extra virgin olive oil, avocados (fresh, not from a jar), nuts, and seeds. Legumes, whole grains, and plain Greek yogurt (unfavored). Spices and herbs such as turme- ric, ginger, bay leaf, cumin, garlic, rosemary, parsley, and cinnamon are commonly used. This is not a magic or perfect list. It’s about building a more conscious lifestyle. Are you familiar with the famous Mediterranean diet? Well, its phi- losophy is also anti-inflammatory: seasonal, local, simple, and home- made food. ������������������������������ a thousand detox smoothies. And it’s a good option for fghting infammation. Eating well doesn’t have to be com- plicated or tedious. It has to be yours. For your health, your energy, your everyday life. And if you add some movement to that —like walking, dancing, or exer- cising—whatever you like—you com- plete the formula for feeling good, in- side and out. Mentally and physically. Te kitchen doesn’t bite! What You Eat Matters! FOOD INDUSTRY EATING OUT IS FINE... BUT IT DOESN’T ALWAYS HELP YOU I also enjoy going out to eat, being ser- ved, and being surprised. But when we want to feel lighter, more energetic, and less infamed, we have to remember so- mething: restaurants cook for their f- nancial margins, not for your health. Most use refned oils, inexpensive ingredients, pre-cooked foods, and of- ten excess saturated fats, salt, sugar, and additives. It’s business. EAT MORE AT HOME (AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A CHEF) When you cook at home, you decide, you’re in control. And that’s not only noticeable in your belly... It’s noticea- ble in your skin, your digestion, your sleep, and even your mood. Buying better doesn’t mean spending more; it means knowing how to choose. Sometimes, a simple chickpea salad with vegetables, fruit, free-range eggs, olive oil, and herbs is worth more than
